Last year the Eurowebtainment show (EWT) celebrated its 30th anniversary. Has the time come to adjust the concept? Apparently at least for this year. The EWT started as an event for porn and adult entertainment including all businesses attached to that, hosting companies, billing providers, traffic networks and such. However it's no news that such events in general are getting a difficult time to keep being attractive. Interests and verticals are shifting, classic businesses like porn are disappearing.
Already the previous two years, the EWT organizers tried to broaden the focus and to bring in a new audience. This by holding the Eurowebtainment together with a Crypto Summit at the same place. It might have been a bit too much of a stretch, still an interesting mix of people came but there was a lack of common interests.
The Digital Business Forum
Now the organizers are trying a clever new idea: Instead of just going with salt and pepper, they go with all kind of herbs. The new "Digital Business Forum presented by Eurowebtainment" is not only about online entertainment but also a wide range of other similar fields like digital marketing, mobile business, virtual reality, crypto, new economy law and fintech. Using that concept it's to expect that they can attract a completely new audience. And chances of common interests among that crowd are increasing rapidly that way. Speakers talking about various topics and seminars will keep the days pass quickly.
Some of the loved parts of the former Eurowebtainment will stay: The location will be again on the sunny island of Mallorca, Spain. Also there will still be a sponsored boat trip and parties. One of which will be the Netstars party featuring sexy models.
The new conference hotel will be the OD Port Portals. A modern 4-star hotel in the fancy private yacht port area called Portals Nous. Plenty of restaurant and bar options are in close distance.
Time will tell if the approach to go wide "digital" will work and people will show up on the 17th to 20th of May. The prerequisites are good and it definitely makes sense to bring the various businesses together and one never knows what synergies can be discovered under the Spanish sun.

Update: Due to the Corona pandemic, the show had to be cancelled. According to the organizers it might be possible a new date will be set later on in the year.
