The Venus fair in Berlin has a long history, actually 21 years of history. And–which is good for the organizers–it has not lost much of is sparkle until now. Each year it attracts thounds and thousands of sexcurious visitors. It’s still one of the largest adult shows in the world for business and pleasure.
Sure, one thing that has changed over the years. There was quite a shift in the exhibitors department. Most of the traditional porn companies disappeared while webcam, virtual reality and novelty companies took over. Also more and more Asian companies find their way to Germanys capital city.
2017 Venus offered again several industry events, the most important one the Award show which–for the first time–was held at a new location, the Marshallhaus behind the exhibition area.
Some of the winners were:
Best Online VOD Platform
Beate Uhse Movie
Best International Label
It was kind of the finale of quite a tour this September. The European Summit in Prague was the last webmaster show of a row that started with the Webmaster Access in Amsterdam, then the XBIZ Berlin.
In Prague several dozen companies presented themselves and their services at the show floor of the Diplomat Hotel. There were also a bunch of seminar rooms constantly occupied with panels that addressed about 80 different topics. With more than 1000 participants, the event was really busy and packed with networking opportunities.
The side entertainment started with the traditional Czech Dinner and ended with a party evening at the hotel. The Czech Dinner was as always exceptional. If someone walked home hungry (or thirsty) then he did something wrong. Next to the food, there were were also several entertainment parts, like live music or striptease.
The next European Summit will take place next spring in Portugal. This instead of the traditional gathering in Sitges, Spain.
For 20 years already the organizers of the Venus fair in Berlin gather a huge crowd of fans and adult business people. And it’s remarkable that even the show shrunk in size over the years, it’s still larger than the AVN Expo in Las Vegas. This years anniversary event was spread over four halls of the Messezentrum beim Funkturm, Berlins largest exhibition area. The offerings were quite diverse, from adult novelties to virtual reality.
Also for the 20th time, the Venus Awards were given away. This year hosted by Niels Ruf (a former TV show host) and Paula Rowe, a german porn actress. While the fair itself was surely larger than the counterpart in Las Vegas as mentioned above, the award show crown stays definitely in Vegas. It’s where the big shows are made, most likely also in January 2017.
Big congratulations to the makers of the Venus show, it’s quite a challenge sailing through 20 years of adult business with all its lows and heights.
